This fire truck is mainly used in electric-risk interventions. It has equipment for lighting and ventilation of a closed area. He is seen here towing a trailer motor pump.

"This fire truck is mainly used in electric-risk interventions" >> WRONG!

The purpose of this unit ("Protection-Eclairage-Ventilation" = "Salvage-Lighting-Ventilation") is to provide lighting, ventilation and pumping equipment, as well as particular equipement like canvas sheets, trash cans to help with salvage and overhaul at the scene of a fire (or in a flooding situation/major water job).

Alex - nice job of decoding the acronym on the license plate.

The BSPP are unique in that their license plates describe the function of the vehicle to which they are attached. But - like many French acronyms - they can be very obscure!

For example, CA = "Camion d'Accompagnment", which translates as "Accompaniment Truck" . Who would know this is a combination back up unit, which carries two class B foam tanks and a supply of 110 mm hose for water relaying?

The other problem is the numbers. Old numbers are eventually retired, but this seems to take a while, so that in some cases a fleet number suggests the brigade has a lot more of a given type of unit than it really does! But, as this is PEV 1 we can't go wrong this time...
