Rotting away in Durban

Hi,

Found these in the Durban Harbour today 18 July 2012 slowly rotting away. I think they were originally destined for Zambia but are still in customs clearing. About eight machines parked in yard. You can see cab roof has collapsed.

So much for helping Third world countries, what a waste.Who was resposible for dispatching them without the approriate forward clearance.
The cost of shipping alone must have been cosierable!?
Is there anyway " Operation Florian" or the like could find them a worthwhile home, i hope so!

Such a waste. I knew this sort of thing would happen when they started selling them off in 2005.

Imported vehicles destined for countries outside South Africa are not allowed to be driven on SA roads and must be transported by carrier. This is expensive as it's over 1, 000 km's. They obviously didn't do their homework before sending them. I doubt the seller cares because they will have been paid. They will stay there until sold for scrap by customs. African story that happens too often.
