Dennis D series XTT310S

We have the sister ship to SJY845T WHICH IS SHOWN ON YOUR WEBSITE the dennis d series. We have the XTT310S 1978 Dennis D series which is now owned by father and son roy and jason browne of hampshire.
The Dennis we have was in service from 1978 to 1992 at Moretonhampstead in Devon, and the call sign was 271. It came out of service after being in a road traffic accident but it was rebuilt and repainted then on delivery back ran into the back of a car and never returned to active service. This is just part of our engine collection at present we have six appliances at different stages of restoration.

Hi
I bought XTT 310S from Devon Fire Brigade and totally restored her and rallied for many years Your info is slightly wrong after she hit a car in the Wray Valley she did go back into service with a rebuilt front end. She was replaced and put on reserve fleet some 2 years later although never actually used for that as the Chief decided to cut reserve appliance from 4 to 3 in each division consequently she was sold.

Graham,
Please could you educate me, I love these appliances but I always thought they were bodied by Dennis Brothers in Guildford I understand that it was a Plymouth Based Coach Builder whom bodied them. I saw you at Netley some years ago when you pulled in behind Littlehamptons Yellow Dennis I was riding on, your appliance was so immaculate I thought it was operational! its a credit to you I am so very sorry you decided to move it on. Due to the Economic times we are in many appliances end up derelict and sold for scrap its so sad for once they are gone they are gone for ever. Can I assume there are only two of these handsome appliances left.

JF Autobodies built the rear bodywork for them with lockers rather than shutters.

Their design made the appliances look a lot better than normal ones.
