Superb picture taken from the 'Hainton inn' beer garden - perfect place to sit and enjoy a pint !

Fantastic line-up, what was the occasion?.

Great photo. Interesting is the omission of the Dennis PHP.

I loved this one too, Brian - and so unusual to see the crews all lined up in front of their appliances! Fewer of them would be evident these days!

Pete, for your information, each year a directory of everything that was good about Grimsby was published by Grimsby Borough Council. This was used as publicity material for the companys featured. Part of this directory included sections for the Police Fire and Ambulance service. This looks to be one of the photos for the directory as they were all taken from the same vantage point. The school I used to go to would receive several of these directories for use in topics based around Grimsby.

Thanks Mike. We're always seeing appliances out on a Saturday or Sunday for wash-out day, but we seldom see, as this lovely old picture shows the crews proudly standing in front of them.

What's that appliance on the far left without any crew stood infront of it?

Added by David Jones on 01 April 2012.
The appliance on the far left is a Dennis F12 PE that was converted to a FoT. It did not, as far as I know, pass to Humberside Fire Brigade in 1974 but cannot be 100% certain about this fact.

The Dennis F12 was converted to a foam tender then became a spare appliance after it became Humberside, then taken off the run and taken across the water to Hull. Last heard it was on an old airfield outside Hull.
