Fire Engines Photos

This is a very early picture of the F8 DEE 496 as it is all red bodywork - it was later reskinned from the doors bag in stucco aluminium for some reason ?

Brian - I was thrilled to see this old shot. I remember these lovely old machines so well, right from their delivery in 1952. Photos such as this, of the old Grimsby Borough are quite rare and precious - this one I quess dates from around 1953-56 or 7 at latest and the F12 would be operating from Chelmsford Avenue and the F8 from the old Central station. I used to hang around these places in my 'teens and got to know the officers and some of the men. You have kindly sent me one or two shots some time ago, which I much appreciate. Do you have any more of this vintage? - I would really love to know!! What a cracker!
