Are the bizarre beacons atop the roof a standard fit for Hampshire machines of this era?

They don't look standard to me - what was the reason for fitting amber beacons? Also what are the grey disc's on the radiator grille?
Also see picture 18220 the front repeaters have been moved, looks like they should be in the grille, hence the grey blank disc's where they used to be. Also the word "FIRE" seems to be gold rather than white!

This is not a standard modification. However all current Hampshire appliances do have amber in their lightbars.
