Like its appliance programme, the NZ Fire Service puts out tenders for the long term supply of support vehicles. Toyota with its Hilux model were long term suppliers & this 2008 example is representative of these vehicles. Often used for fire safety, rural support or in this case volunteer support, there are large numbers of this type of vehicle in service across the country. This particular vehicle is based in Greymouth. Photo taken 2008.
