Representing the NZ Fire Service's only involvement with Volvo appliances, 6 medium pumps were built in 1987 by Mills Tui on B6FA chassis utilising the NZ Fire Service standard safety cab. The appliances themseves proved relatively unpopular and were considered underpowered. This example served in the North Island before being transferred to the South Island in 2010 & allocated to the Cobden Volunteer Brigade in Greymouth. At the end of 2010 this is the only example still in front line service - one other remains as a relief appliance while all the others have been disposed of. (photo taken 2010).
