A number of similar appliances have been imported into NZ from Japan. Generally they are extremely cheap and low mileage and often are converted into utility or other recreational vehicles. They also provide cheap fire cover to rural or forestry areas. This is a 1984 Nissan Safari & was purchased by the Selwyn District Council & placed with the isolated Lake Coleridge Rural Fire Party.
