Amer. LaFrance open cab

This magnificently restored 1961 ALF is the City of Irondale, Alabama's parade truck. THIS is what an American Fire truck should look like!

Wonderful photograph of a true American iconic fire apparatus. The open cab and Sterling siren make this 900 series ALF for me along with the red leather seats. Not sure though if the Roto-ray revolving lights would look the part too? All credit to those involved in the preservation of it and to Fireman for sharing it.

What a beautiful old engine! Thanks for sharing this. According to wikipedia, Irondale is a town of about 12000 adjacent to Birmingham (which itself is over 200, 000).

Second the motion !

Have known that ever since getting a plastic model of Series 700 American LaFrance pumper, out
of a Kelloggs Corn Flakes box, in the 1950's.

Remember they also had the ALF Ladder Truck, too - I do believe that we must have ate a lot of Mr Kelloggs' product to collect them all...

Regards, from Canada,
