The coachbuilder of this forlorn 1958 Gamecock is unknown. New to the Fire Service College in Wellington this appliance ended its days with the Kaikoura Volunteer Brigade. It was last seen in this sorry state in a field near Christchurch.

David: As I understand it, this was a Carmichael bodied appliance. 99% of the Karrier Gamecocks were, and I'm that same 99% certain that the Wellington jobs were as well.,

Yip but there were a handful of other builders - Chapman, Whites & at least one Hale. Unless I can confirm the builder I leave as unknown.

Quite right, David, there were a handful of other builders, but I still think all the Wellington ones were by Carmichael (though of course I could well be wrong !)
