This unique appliance is based on a 1982 Isuzu SBR422 chassis & was built as a light industrial pump by Mills Tui for the synthetic fuel plant at Motunui. It was subsequently sold to the NZ Fire Service & was allocated to the Kawhia Volunteer Brigade. It is now used as a decontamination unit with the fulltime Dunedin brigade based at the city station. However, with the introduction of a dedicated Hazmat/Command appliance in 2011 the days of this appliance are numbered.
