This 2010 Isuzu NPS300 is a rural appliance built by SPEL for the Christchurch City Council & allocated to the Duvauchelle Rural Fire Party. A number of similar appliances were built in Australia for various NZ operators & following their success the decision was made to produce these appliances in NZ with SPEL winning the contract. A number of these vehicles are produced each year with the National Rural Fire Authority contributing part of the appliance cost with the local authority/council seeking the appliance providing the balance.
