Tenbury Wells. Ford/HCB Angus. 1983

Taken in the old market yard at the rear of Tenbury's old station in October 1983, this Ford, reg. PCJ 402M, was the Water Ladder, call-sign 5-3-1, Tenbury being station 53 in the then Hereford & Worcester fire brigade, since changed, as have many to 'fire and rescue service'.
I believe this appliance was affectionately known to some, as the 'Silver Bullet'.

I always thought this HCB body was the most attractive solution to integrating the factory tilt cab with the fire service bodywork. It looked even better when everything was painted red!
