Portuguese fire services operate lots of large urban tankers, because hydrants are often not capable of delivering adequate volumes of water for serious fire fighting. Setting into multiple hydrants is of course time consuming and requires a lot of extra manpower. So the tanker enables crews to get high volume jets to work quickly...

But, if this unit actually carries 12, 000 liters, it is very likely going to be over its rated 19 ton GVW. The chassis and tank body must weigh at least 8 tons empty...
