Was this photo taken at a fire show? If so what is the name of it and how often does it occur? Great pict.

Rosenbauer turn out great appliances - but good grief they're expensive, and that's what keeps them from being a mass UK supplier.

Ian:
It seems they and their subsidiaries are now the largest worldwide supplier of fire trucks, despite being more expensive than some others.
I think it may have to do with the fact that there is a flourishing market for used trucks with Rosenbauer bodies, so they still command a premium price when the time comes for them to be replaced. (Those on Scania chassis seem to be particularly prized.)
This tends to make the total cost spread over fifteen years or so competitive with cheaper units, which are often harder to sell off at a decent price. It also makes the lease costs quite attractive for those brigades which lease their equipment.
A great photo, this certainly demonstrates how much things have changed since the sixties, when most of what was to be found in the typical fire engine's lockers was limited to rolls and rolls of hose!
