Nice looking fire engine, and a lovely picture of it. I see that you are using blue and red emergency light on this vehicle. Is that common in Portugal ??
Full size pumpers in Portugal often have large water tanks, even for strictly urban use.
This is because many hydrants are built into building's walls, and are supplied by the building water supply line rather than directly from the street mains. All too often, this type of installation results in a weak flow which is marginal - or frankly inadequate - for firefighting purposes.
Ladder is important for fire fighting because it helps us to climbing on the any floor of a building

This small town of 6,000 inhabitants has an all-volunteer fire service, which provides EMS, rescue and both urban and wildland firefighting capacities. The fire and rescue fleet numbers 8 units in addition to ambulances. It includes two pumpers, two tankers, an aerial, a rescue, two brush trucks and a boat trailer.
