Fire Engines Photos

Having seen this machine on the website, I made sure I called in to see it during a regular trip over from the UK to Portugal, as we aren't as fortunate to see these American appliances in our fleets.

It's as impressive as it looks, being maintained in excellent condition. I understand that it was delivered new to Alhandra direct from the US in 1982. And the brass plates flanking the wipers detail the benefactors who made it's purchase possible.

It's still used as a first away machine, and favoured by the driver I spoke to who compliment it's power and reliability.

If I ever become fortunate enough to live in Portugal, I'm going to move to Alhandra just to become a volunteer so that I can get the chance to drive it!
