Is this the same TL as in picture 17799?

Hi Marcel. Yes this is deed the same TL. PAJ 576R It spent most of its operational life on the run out of York fire station, Clifford Street but then went on a spare TL across the brigade for a while.

This was last heard of at an outdoor vehicle centre up in Northumberland, where you can drive Tanks and other off road things. I have the owners business card somewhere, I'll see if I've still got it.

I am wondering if this was the same chassis design as the one originally introduced for the Simon Snorkel.

This had the engine mounted behind the front axle to obtain a low profile cab, but did not have a front grille - lust a small rectangular opening between the headlights.

The York ladder looks like it has the same grille as the pump escapes and water tenders - does this mean it had the engine between the front seats too?

Somebody familiar with it must know!
