Durham & Darlington Mercedes Sprinter Water Rescue

I have to confess to knowing little about this appliance other than what it says in the Durham and Darlington FRS website:The boats or SRT Swift Water Rescue Team is mobilised to all incidents in or around water. The water rescue equipment is carried on 2 vehicles, a flat bed Landover and a sprinter van. They carry floating walk ways, 2 RIB (Ridged Inflatable Boat), and other equipment such as lines, life jackets etc.
I photographed it outside of Durham Cathedral in August 2008 along with a Dennis Sabre WT but could not see any evidence of an ongoing incident.

Bought in 2001 and based at Peterlee as the Line Rescue Unit. The line rescue team folded and the vehicle became a general run around for a while.

It was then converted (gear changed) to a water rescue unit and based at Bishop Auckland with the swift water rescue lot and the boats.

The Merc is also a 4x4 with selectable drive and if I recall traction control
