Tyne & wear Fire Boat Vedra

Photographed inside Sunderland Central Fire Station in February 1991 this boat was introduced either in 1989 or 1990(I think the latter but not sure - sorry) Its name came for the Latiin/Roman name for the River Wear. A similar boat was based at Newcastle East and was called the Tinea. It was towed to the River wear by the station's RIV and placed in the water by Fulwell's Turntable ladder acting as a crane. Although I was told I do not now remember or can find a note of who the boat builder was.
