Looks like a large waste of valuable compartment space. Is there a reason why the airpacks are not stored in the seats of the cab? Why is the generator taking up a whole compartment with what appears to be 3 space scuba bottles? In the U.S. and Canada the airpacks are stored recessed in the seats to save on valuable compartment space. Most of us also use a power take off generator, which is store up top and feeds a 150-250 foot cord reel. Scba bottles are stored in the corners of the wheel wells, which is usually wasted space. Just curious why Sk Fire, which has been around for a long time has not incorporated any of these items. Any ideas?

Actually this is the first attack vehicle for our department. SK Fire build the vehicle according to customer specification whereas this is the standard spec for our LP. As it was build on a standard medium duty truck chassis so the BA sets which are usually stored at the cabin are moved to the locker as the are limited space in the cabin compared to their major appliance counterparts. Hi Todd, I think this would be a fairly small vehicle when compared to your trucks. Looking at the standard commercial crew cab there would be little room for BA storage. These vehicles are designed with minimal equipment to get to an incident scene quickly. To load any more gear would inhibit their capability.
