Big tankers are commonplace in Portugal, and usually form part of the first attendance at structure fires - even in large cities.
The reason is that many hydrants are built into individual building's water supply lines in the walls, and these often do not yield a very strong flow because of their limited size.
37, 000 liters will extinguish a pretty decent sized fire, even if it is sometimes a bit difficult to get a rig this large close to a fire in some of the older urban streets...
