The Ellendale Fire Dept. operates this antique 1949 American LaFrance Foamite. The apparatus is used only for parades and funerals at this time, but remained in service for 50+ years and was the oldest in service engine in the state of Delaware at the time of its retirement, responding to its last alarm in the early 2000's when returning from a parade.
