Great atmospheric photo of a C series with the cab tilted - a major onnovation when first introduced. This chassis was hugely popular with both large city fire deaprtments and small volunteer fire companies all across the Amricas. It was cheap, rugged, simple to drive, reliable and very easy to service and repair. Ford dealers and parts stores were in almost every town, and if they went off the run they were usually back in service very quickly.
Dozens of fire truck builders used this chassis, and FMC was but one. Funnily enough, FMC actually stood for the Food Machinery Company - nothing to do with firefighting!
