What height is it? It looks like TL mounted the wrong way round. I take it that there is a cage and carries extension ladders as well.

Neal, it states its a 95ft aerial, in fact its a Pierce 95ft mid-mount Aerial Tower Ladder.These are simular to a turntable but are mounted in the middle of the apparatus facing backwards on a turntable and have a cage(bucket)at the head of the ladder.
Whats known as ground ladders would also be stowed from the rear into a locker.
Its not un-common to also see these type of mid-mount aerial(TL's)in many european countries such as Germany, Austria, etc.They've been in use for many years.
