Yes this is Bridlington, the HP was relocated from Scunthorpe in 1977 where it had been from new - it was too large to fit in the four bay station at Bridlington so lived in the workshop garage at the rear of the station the front of which can just be seen at the rear of the HP
thanks I remember been shown round on a school trip in the late 70s and seeing it in the garage round the back, I didn't know this was the workshop, I think I remember a white landrover as well but not 100% sure, thanks dave
Rick I had a look in at Bridlington about 30 years ago and if my memory is correct I was told the HP was only there during the holiday season and was retain manned, or did I dream it?
No Neal, It was there permanently from 1977 until around 1989 when replaced by a G registered Volvo Metz TL - Scunthorpes Metz TL C188 EAG spent some time there in the time preceding the new TL's arrival for crew training - I believe the HP and the TL were retained manned at one point and may be again now with the 'financial restraints' - however, I have spent more than a shift or two detatched from my home station at Scunthorpe to Bridlington to be the TL's driver operator !
Out of interest I am told that NFU 121F (the HP in the picture) still survives somewhere - anyone know its whereabouts ?
