Lend-Lease American LaFrance (WW II). Good to see one that has been preserved.

John, do you mind me asking how you know that is a Lend-Lease ALF, thanks?

Pavel, last time I was in Brisbane I picked up a book on the Fire Service in Brisbane and the information was there. Also, I have several other books with the information in them.

John, thanks for that, the guys here in Perth at the Brigade Museum workshops have been trying to hunt down any information as to the name of the ship and the date it brought their ALF ladder to Perth, which is in fully restored condition. By any chance would your books have that information. One might presume the same ship brought all the five or so JOX to Australia?

Pavel; In the US during WWII firefighting equipment production was a military secret, so few records exist. Your aerial is a 1942 ALF model JOX. "Probably" one of 5 delievered to Australia in 1943. Brisbane's CAR 215 was one of those. It was manufactured in 1942 in New York, USA. Please e-mail me ([email protected]) I can give you a few more details and a possible lead on your truck.

A JOX and a Dennis sharing the same patch of grass! Talk about Beauty and the Beast. What fun is this.....but could somebody please remove those awful tape stripes from the Beauty?
