SAP201 June 11SAP201 has already been shown on this site in various states over the last few years but this is how she looks at present. She's been dry stored since last Christmas. Short History was new to East Sussex in April 1960, transfered to West Sussex following the boundary changes in 1974 and went out of service in 1976. I don't know what happened then. But from July 1989 to July 1993 she was a works appliance for Courtaulds Chemicals. Has only covered 15743 miles. Until December 2010 she had stood outside a warehouse in Yorkshire for several years (by the northbound A1)I'm not sure when she was last started but guess it may of been at least ten years ago, so today for the first time in a very long time, she has been coaxed back into life, and surprising runs pretty well! Pity the brakes don't work yet! If anyone has any experience restoring Karrier Gamecocks I'd be interested to hear from you. Many thanks.
