Ron - it is interesting that these pumpers combine the European idea of a rear mount pump with a variation on the American idea of a hose bed with readily deployed pre-connected hoses.

This arrangement gives the crew quick access to what I assume is either 90 meters of attack line and/or 180 meters of hose - which can be used for attack, supply, or both....

In addition, because these are paid out from the back of the truck, they can be used with equal facility in any of three directions, to the rear or to either side.

It is such a good idea that it is very surprising that this configuration does not seem to exist to any degree anywhere outside Australia, except perhaps in New Zealand.
