Mumbai Fire truck TATA
Though there are many various new foreign fire trucks purchased by the mumbai fire dept ,this is the only fire truck model which is been used form the past 20 years and not changed a bit .
This kind of truck will be found in each and every fire station in mumbai as it countains most of the equptments.It is called the FIRST TURN OUT. since it is the first fire truck to be dispatched at the scene.
Its chassis is of tata & will only be tata.

Is the Salvage Corps still operating in Mumbai, it used to be called the Bombay Salvage Corps.

This type of pumper had a Dennis No:2 500 gpm pump with a 1, 000 gallon tank, which explains why it is quite a bit larger than most British pump appliances. The full width tank sat right above the rear axle, like an overgrown Derbyshire Dennis F8.
This enabled them to get to work on even quite serious fires without accessing hydrants, because in many areas of the city these were (and still are) few and far between.
To deal with fires needing more than a few thousand gallons, the SOP was usually a combination of a pumper shuttle and the use of one or more larger 2, 000 or 2, 5000 gallon tandem axle tankers, rather than setting up a relay with multiple pumpers and extensive hose lines.
These units normally carried a crew of six.
