checking hydrant's. In Warwickshire they have a man in a van goes round checking them.

Back in my days in Merseyside hydrants were checked twice a year, once by the hydrant tester in a van and once by operational crews in an appliance. No finer way to lean the location of your hydrants and the best one to use if you had a job.

i think they were doing their assigned home fire safety checks usually north Wales has their own inspector for hydrants
