Oxford City - ET - 288 RFCStill on the subject of Oxford, here's the virtually unique Thames Trader/HCB ET - 288 RFC.
Of particular note is the front beacon, which due to its having been mounted in a bell recess is obviously not 360o and completely justifies the (then comparatively rare) rear-mounted one.

London Salvage Corps had a couple of Trader salvage tenders, with odd-looking custom coachwork, but I recall that fire brigade use was limited to units bodied in Belgium, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand or Denmark - and a few British bodied units exported to Africa.
A handful of the the older Thames chassis were used in the 1950s, but these were long before the Trader was introduced.
