Was this a "safety cab" like the angular HCB crew cab, or just a fiberglass alternative to tacking a coachbuilt crew section onto the standard TK cowl or truck cab?

This is HCB Angus HSC, High Strength Cab. It feel in between the standard cab, wooden frame and the CSV cab.
It had a metal frame and was cheaper than the CSV and stronger than the standard cabs so brigades bought this as a compromise.
