Asset Co are a leasing company, they supply the vehicles, ie own the vehicle and lease it out to the user. British Gas used to have a company car department, which grew and became more sucessful, they became a company in their own right, which was known as "The leasing group" then became, TLG, and then Assetco, by this time they were supplying specialist vehicles as well as cars. Eventually I think Assetco sold out the majority of the business to Lombard, but Assetco retained the specialist vehicle contracts.

to add Lincolnshires fleet were owned by Translinc before AssetCo won the contract. Translinc owned the vehicles and when AssetCo took over they slowly brought in fire appliances to repalce those owned by Translinc hence why we still have 22+ London volvos in the fleet as they only paid for the foden water carrier & Skegness K reg HP (now turning out of lincoln south). The newer volvos Translinc owned were bought up by Irish brigades, the rest I don't know where they have gone, judging by the amnount of rust maybe a breakers yard!, especially the F reg ones and the ex Tyne and Wear ones they had where the chasis was starting to rot.
I've heard although not confirmed that the newer Lincs machines met the London emission regs & the older London ones didn't. Lincs doesn't have emission regs!
