Ex Bedfordshire 1959 Bedford J4 Miles WrT YNM497 in use as a breakdown. This was stationed at Dunstable FS and when sold it was used by a local garage in Dunstable, the panels around the windscreen were repainted blue. This photo was taken by my late mother from her flat in the 1970's. Hydrant alongside!

Rather practical repurposing for a pensioned off water tender. Seats for the unfortunately stranded driver and passengers, nice big locker for tools, petrol cans, spare parts and batteries, etc, and a very minor paint area to change colour. And - if it is old enough - a pair of amber flashers already built into the roof!
