This P/Wrc is a 1983 Ford Cargo 1315/Furgussons with the registration number J59922(Brigade No#22)and is pictured at what looks like the Western Fire Station opened in 1978 at St.Brelade which covers the parishes of St.Brelade, St.Peter and St.Ouen whilst the Headquarters station covers the rest of the Island.
I think this picture was taken in the 'workshop area' at the rear of the main fire station on Rouge Boullion in St Helier - I've just looked at photos I took some years ago and the station at St Brelades has considerably more headroom than in this picture - again looking at my pics the workshop/storage area has a low headroom in part of it
As we have mentioned, Ford of Britain did not follow up the D series with a SVO fire appliance chassis when the Cargo replaced it.
This Cargo tanker is therefore a rather rare bird, and is built on a standard truck chassis.
The only place you will find numerous Cargo fire trucks is in Brazil - and a few South American markets which bought Brazilian Ford Cargo fire truck chassis or complete vehicles - as they did offer fire service chasiss modifications there....
