Help needed!!
there is some doubt over the history of this appliance i was given it some months ago and a friend Alan Greenwood told me its Chertsey's machine but i have been told it is Reigates!!
Also if anyone knows of anybody that can re build and re hang the two front doors it would be of great benefit as i intend to get it to some shows at the back end of the season
if spare doors are known of i would gladly pay good money for them
Barry are you liberating the old Leyland Metz 125' of its fifth section?
be nice to see your appliance restored to full height!
any advice kindly received
in Bahrain at the moment back in the uk may 23rd hope to have some more pics of appliances here mainly scania but one dennis RS

As the owner of this machine i can without doubt say this is a Klockner Humboldt Deutz DL30H (magirus) ladder
David Haydon Ltd were the coachbuilders and uk agents for Magirus at this time as John Morris did before
These were exclusive concessionairs for Magirus until the Demise of David haydon ltd in the late 60's
This is the first Magirus ladder to have fully hydraulic drive and they were built from 1958 onward, height ranging from 23mtr to 45mtr on this turret and swinging frame

If I am correct, Darlington's Leyland Firemaster David Haydon hydraulic Magirus turntable ladder 999 MHN was delivered in June 1960, which would have been earlier than this F27.

Compared to Magirus ladders' service life in Germany, eighteen years seems to be a short time for this F27 to have been in use.
