Somerset Leyland Cub
Apologies for the partial shot of this appliance its ex Somerset reg DYC 646 (also see pic 21932) I have today after 15 years finally got permission to view it - the cover is rotting away so we did not totally uncover it it needs a complete restoration, has no pump fitted (only wrong deliveries) but is complete other than that and the engine turns on the starting handle !! see, they are still out there !!

This FK6 was new to Martock in 1938.

There is every chance this vehicle will come onto the market in the relatively near future - the solicitors dealing with the estate asked me to view it the other day to ascertain its condition - they got my details from the (hopeful) beneficiaries of the will who I had previously made contact with.
I have to say that whilst it undoubtedly requires a full restoration and is missing the all important Gwynne pump and fittings it is emminantly saveable - I was astounded we could turn the engine over freely and the oil appeared to have no contamination in it !
The tyres all appeared to be holding air, the gear lever and clutch were also 'free' but accelerator was stuck.
The site won't allow me to say when or where it will be for sale however if there is any interest I have loads more pictures I took ! anyone interested feel free to email me for further details !

Called by the address where this Leyland is this afternoon (4th July 2012) its still there !!!!!

Having been through an auction last year in Duxford this cub was found yesterday for sale on a well known auction site (in Germany !!!)
