And guess who lived in Wallsend from 1950 until 1971 ? I was a regular visitor to Wallsend fire station in those days !

Don't make them like that anymore. The Gamecocks in North Wales always made my head turn in the early 1970's. SDM 826/7, CCC 42/63. I never saw CCC 87 as she was written off in a RTC on Llanfairfechan village Cross answering a call to a house fire in Abergwyngreggyn.

see picture 20051. This machine is now in the hands of Peter Scott in Suffolk who is restoring her. She is on Flickr under paranoid from Suffolk! I photographed it in London in October 2009 but that was not a serious fire engine owner.
