Invermere Fire dept Canada Parade truck
The proud of the Invermere Fire department (BC Canada) is this Parade truck, a 1953 Bickle Seagrave Fire appliance. Pump capacity 840 gallon/minute. Tank contains 500 gallons of water.
Special thanks to Deputy Fire chief Tom and his fire crew for the help during my visit.

To quote from the Beatles' "Penny Lane":
"He loves to keep his fire engine clean --
It's a clean machine."
Maybe the Beatles were describing a Dennis like 459? I guess it applies to an old Seagrave as well, eh?

Immaculate Seagrave "New World" pumper, an early delivery - as this updated design was introduced shortly after 1950.
On this example, the cab has a rear facing crew bench, accessed by a center aisle between two separate hose beds - a design that was shared by some earlier prewar Seagraves as well as a few other makes at the time.
If the crew exceeded five, any others would ride the rear step, and indeed many old hands still preferred to ride the step even if the seats were not occupied!
