Zehlendorf is one of Berlin City's 57 volunteer fire stations, which supplement the paid fire service's 34 fire stations. The community is a south western suburb of the city on the main road to Potsdam.
It has 34 fully operational volunteer personnel, including four females, and houses two modern rescue pumpers, an older third pump and a command van.
This unit has a livery which has since been replaced by a more "modern" striping arrangement, and the city remains almost entirely devoted to MAN for their trucks' chassis.
Berlin has now completed adding rescue pumpers to all its volunteer stations, and some now also have cars which are used as EMS first responders by qualified volunteers to augment the EMS services.
