SAP201 Ex East Sussex Karrier

SAP201 delivered back to East Sussex.
Was based at Wadhurst in 1970's, and also Rye. From a log book found in the cab it seems from 1989 until 1993 she was used by Courtaulds Chemicals as a works appliance (in Manchester?)and has the British Fire Service Association badge on the door. Prior to December 2010 she has been in Bedale, Yorkshire by the A1 where she has sat for at least a couple of years. I'd be interested if any one can add to the history! At one time she was on e-bay up for auction but did not sell, I took a couple of pics of her a couple of years ago as I pass where she stood just off the A1 on my way to work at RAF Leeming FD.

Luckily she is in fairly good condition for about 50 years old, although i'm not sure mechanically yet what I will find, The speedo has only got 15748k miles on it which I suspect to be genuine. I have had dealings with HCB Angus built bedfords before, and know if this had been built mainly out of timber, like them she would be full of rot by now. But this Carmichael bodied Karrier, is virtually all aluminium. However I'm sure there will be plenty of surprises as work progresses!

Yeah, it's in a good condition, Michael. Especially when you consider it's done over 15 million miles! Good luck with it.

This vehicle was at Coventry in the late 80s I think it was 87-89 I was in the Courtaulds fire service and drove it regularly.
