Vienna's new rescue pumpers have a mid mounted Rosenbauer NH 15 1600/400 LPM dual pressure pump to save weight and space, with front, rear and side outlets. There are control panels in the cab and at the rear.
A CAFS installation results in a reduction of the water tank to 1200 liters, as less water is needed due to the initial knockdown being so much faster.
The new system can operate in both a 0.1 to 1.0% mode for class A fires, or 3 to 6% ratio for class B hydrocarbons and liquids.
The smaller pump and tank create capacity for additional rescue and hazmat equipment, without materially reducing firefighting capabilities.
Not right for everybody, perhaps, but an interesting glimpse into a possible future?
The chassis is MAN and the builder is Rosenberg. The initial order was for three identical units.
