This is the 2nd away/reserve engine for the Indian River Shores Public Safety Dept. in Florida. It is a 1984 Pierce, with a Dash chassis. While referred to as an engine, it is actually a quint. It has a 1250gpm at 150psi pump, 400gal water tank, and carries 3-5gal buckets of AFFF to use with a portable foam eductor. It has a 55' pre-piped Telesquirt with a 1000gpm ladder pipe. A portable deck gun, 1000gpm, is mounted on the left side of the boom out of sight. Besides attack lines, it carries 400' of 3" and 1000' of 5" supply hose.

Indian River Shores personnel are trained as firefighters/police officers/emergengy medical technicians. 3 officers patrol the town, while the other 3 man the station. At least one officer is a paramedic. At the station are: the first away engine, a Pierce with a 1250/750/30 and RTA equipment; the second away engine, an ALS ambulance and a reserve ambulance. They make about 1000 runs/year. In the event of a fire or medic call, the police cars carry basic life support gear, AEDs, and fire equipment for use till the trucks arrive.
