Staffs F&RS Four-wheeled drive

DX09 KZM - Seen at Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service's HQ open day, I don't know where this vehicle is based or what it is used for. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I've not met anyone who knows what this vehicles role is. It was at Brewood last year minus the box body and had been deployed at the V Festival. It was at Stafford Beaconside a few months back in the yard too. I don't know where its home station is. There was a load of Animal Rescue Gear next to Cannocks Land Rover, is this carried on the Rover or the Ranger ?

Does Staffordshire FRS have co-responders? If so maybe it is one?

Adam, to me it looked like all the animal rescue kit was part of the Land Rover's inventory. And I don't think Staffordshire have co-responders, David.

I thought maybe it was used for towing - and that got me wondering whether Staffs F&RS still operate the Argocat 'Banana Splits' All-Terrain Vehicles at Cannock and Leek, as they had to be towed. But I've not seen one or heard of one in use for quite a time now, so maybe they're gone. The ones I remember were of a 1991 vintage, so they'd be knocking on a bit now.

(Sorry if you're all too young to remember the Banana Splits!)

I have since found out this belongs to the Risk Reduction Team at Stafford and was bought using funds raised from events like a V Festival. It does get deployed there every year and can be deployed elsewhere also.

Deal all; the Ranger is indeed part of the Risk Reduction Team at Stafford but has been at Cannock since October 2011;
The Land rover that was at Cannock was finally taken off the run at that time as the lease had expired;
Currently the Ranger is acting as the Land Rover and is carrying some of the Animal Rescue gear for Staffs. Cannock and Leek are now dedicated Animal Rescue stations - Leek is carrying their gear on a new MAN 4x4 appliance and Cannock will shortly be receiving a Mercedes UNIMOG. Not sure at this time if the Ranger will stay at Cannock to compliment the Off road capacity / suitability.

the unimog has now gone on the run at cannock and the ranger is still be used as a replacmentfor the landrover.

Ges, can you confirm that the three L4Ps have been taken off-the-run? Regs: DX03 ORK/L/N.

I am not 100% sure but I would say yes there are now out of the service; 4x4 capability will remain only with the Ranger and the Unimog, plus some limited support from the MAN 4x4 trucks.

They have been disposed of, they were for sale on a Land Rover dealership website a few months back.
