The new Dennis F33 PWt CEE 999C alongside Dennis F24 PWt MEE 247 and Dennis F12 PE DEE 109. Could anyone tell me what happened to these appliances upon retirement?
Interesting to hear of the Dennis Society, have also been amazed that a dedicated group has not previously been established for the marque. Be interested to find out more.
Thanks for your comments Peter and Ian. If the Dennis data base does not indicate an F33 for Grimsby does it list an F34 delivered late '64/early'65? Certainly from the photo the appliance looks as wide as the F12 next to it, but photos can be misleading.

yes Dennis F34 shown with delivery date of 5th June 1965. You just need to Google dennissociety and go to chassis list.
I am now administering the preserved Dennis Fire Appliance database for the Dennis Society and would appreciate details of any preserved machines, chassis numbers, dates of manufacture and present location/owner etc.
Such a pity this brigade took to unpainted bodywork. It may have been practical, but they looked so dismal next to their good old fashioned red stablemates. And of course the F 12 was the all-time British classic!
Rob how true. It did not stop the bullshit brigade though. I served for a brief period on a Norfolk retained station, we had a Dodge B Type with alloy body. Drill nights were spent polishing the alloy with Brasso and rags. It actually made it worse as the more you used the more the alloy oxidised and pitted. Oh happy days.
