Austin Rover Sherpa Fire Appliance
Photograph taken at Harrogate 1.8.10 at the end of this years H.C.V.S Trans Pennine Run from Manchester. I believe this appliance worked at one of Rolls Royce's factories, and it had covered under 10000 miles in it's lifetime

Just sold at Mathewsons Feb 2023 for £6,500.
Still immaculate now with 11k on clock. So done 1000 miles in last 13 years !
Badged up as Rolls Royce fire service .
A good buy for someone as a great vehicle for taking to shows.

It is interesting that it was so low mileage, because this was not only a feature of their fire engine, but also of their famous products too. The average Rolls Royce owner had no less than seven vehicles, many at different residences, so none of them accumulated very many miles either! I happen to know this because RR was one of our clients when I worked with an automotive consulting firm. They were not much into trucks though - I know of only one modern version with a pickup body for a middle eastern prince and three historic fire engines. One of these was built in the US when RR had a factory there - and the other two were on limousine chassis with Swiss bodywork.

Clever use of the van rear doors as side doors make it look like a factory crew cab, which was never an option. A nice conversion.

Well spotted! Never mind the fixed windows. Based on its minimal mileage, nobody would have suffered very much back there for very long.

Anything this small would be a private factory fire brigade unit - and these by definition never had to drive very far!
But the Sherpa is a rarity - most were Transits or Land-Rovers.
