This appliance had been on the run at Ivybridge for about 18 months when I joined the station as a recruit in 1976. One of a batch of four supplied to the then Devon Fire Brigade in 1974. This batch of appliances had a higher geared back axle than the later models and would do 80mph down the Plympton Bypass. I road this appliance to loads of shouts over, about, a 10 year period, she was replaced with a newer Dennis D. in about 1987/88. Is this appliance still in preservation? I could probably dig out some operational photos if the current owner contacts me.
