Such dedicated lighting units are comparatively rare these days, but most of them that do exist are to be found in Germany, where they are deployed at incidents on the Autobahn network.

The town of Hanau has a population of 93, 000 and is surrounded by Autobahns on all sides. It is protected by an all-volunteer unpaid fire service with six fire stations and around 12O assorted vehicles, trailers and pods.

This unit is clearly designed to be seen from a good distance!
